Hydronic Wall-mounted Fan Coil Units
In some projects it's difficult to provide heating and cooling in all the different areas and zones that need it.
Hotels & motels need to meet the needs of their guests. Each room must have its own heating & cooling. Often this has been done with "through-the-wall" packaged units, usually with electric heat and a noisy compressor that keeps you awake all night. The compact, wall mounted fan coils are a simple, quiet solution. Hot and chilled water are circulated through the unit when heating or cooling are needed. A whisper quiet fan (no noisy compressor) provides heating and cooling on demand. The remote control supplied with the fan coil makes is easy for your guests to control their comfort.
Adding temperature control to small offices on a mezzanine? The wall mounted fan coils are a simple solution. Simply run PEX piping to the fan coil to provide hot or chilled water and provide the comfort you need.
Difficult to run ductwork to that third floor loft in an old home retrofit? A pair of 1/2", 3/4" or 1" PEX lines can usually be easily concealed in the walls to supply hot or chilled water to a wall mounted fan coil. The remote control included with the fan coil makes controlling your temperature easy.
The fan coils are designed for cooling using 45 deg. F (8 deg. C) water. They are available in several sizes, from 3/4 ton (8,000 btuh or 2.3 kW) to 3-ton (36,000 btuh or 10.5 kW).
They are designed to operate with the low water temperatures available from geothermal heat pumps. Using 110 deg. F (43 deg. C) water, the smallest fan coils provide 8,500 btuh (2.5 kW). The largest fan coil will provide 30,000 btuh (8.8 kW) with 110 deg. F (43 deg. C) water. The model numbers of the fan coils and heating & cooling capacities are shown on the following chart.

A geothermal water-to-water heat pump operates very efficiently at the temperatures needed for these fan coils. In hotels, for example, such a heat pump system can provide chilled water to air condition the rooms, while making hot water for the laundry, or to heat an indoor or outdoor pool.
