With an area of 6950 sq m. (74,809 sq ft) on three levels, the Mistissini Community Centre in northern Quebec houses an area with locker rooms for players and referees, a gymnasium with locker rooms, a fitness room, a library, fast-food service and offices. The objective was to design a building that would comply with sustainable development principles while providing high enerty efficiency. The arena and adjacent rooms were given special attention as they account for almost half of the community center (+/- 2800 sq m. [30 139 sq ft]) and are known as high energy-consuming buildings. |
